Sophia was not like the other children she always kept her head down, she never spoke more than a couple words at a time in a quite whisper. she was caught once playing with dead mice. The town would claim that they would not be surprised if she turned out to be a witch.

Sophia tells her worried parents that she has friends but was never seen outside playing with them. Her parents questioned this wondering “where are they? who are they?”. Sophia said that they live a little ways away down the river and in the woods. This seemed fine to the parents because Sophia had been going out to the woods for months and always coming back peaceful and safe.

One of her friends she called seven, apparently watched over her and made sure that she was healthy and happy. Another friend of hers was nine who made her feel very lonely and incapable of small tasks. She often would hang out with seven but occasionally nine would make his appearance known.
