Missing

I stared at the flyer in my hand, my brother's smiling face smiled back at me. He had disappeared a month ago without a trace and I missed him dearly, we were twins; two peas in a pod. We had never been apart from each other. Before he disappeared had sworn up and down that someone or something had been following him. He had been obsessive and acting erratically; it had scared me and my parents to death.

They had even admitted him to a psych hospital. I visited him almost every day and he would beg me to believe him but my stubbornness had made me ignore my heart and doubt him. He had stared with such pleading and desperate eyes at the time, it broke my heart. I can't help but wonder if I had followed my heart; would he still be here? I dreamed he would walk right up that walkway and into my arms. Just what had he seen watching him and was he okay?

I felt a shiver go down my spine and the hairs on the back of my neck raise. I stood up fast causing my chair to clatter the the floor. My heart sped in my chest as I looked around me. I saw it or rather him when I looked out the window. He stood under the old oak tree watching me intensely, my breath hitched in my throat. His eyes were red and glowing and he looked at me like I was his prey and I knew he was the one who had my brother.
