i stare down into the blue sky

with distant stars

twinkling above my prone form

i feel the burn of salt and kiss of sand

my feet are clinging to the dock

music nothing but a body hum

when they find me in the morn

they will say it was an accident

but i know as i looked down

into the murky water

i did not slip, flip, nor fall

but dove into a new world

one where all creatures become stars
