Lost Soul
The lights were all off, but that didn't stop me from finding my way. I knew this place like the back of my hand - and unfortunately for me, they knew that.
I felt their eyes on me as much as I felt the coarse wood under my bare feet, even though I could not see them through the darkness. I felt their intensity lurking in every corner, waiting to torment me.
It used to make me more afraid when I was young, but sometimes it brings me comfort in a morbid way. After all, they are ghosts here just as much as I am.
All of us longing for escape, dreaming of freedom beyond these dilapidated walls. I yearn to hear something beyond the wind howling outside, or floors creaking under the heavy weight of all of us forgotten souls.
Maybe knowing they haunt me is better than being entirely alone.
