Love Does Not Always Match

I am not sure what to say really, Lisa he came up to me this morning and poured his heart out. Being honest I must do, but I do not want to be mean or hurtful. If I can some how try to figure out how to let David down as easy as possible. The ladies are talking as they are working steady to get the restaurant ready to open. As they are open for breakfast lunch and dinner, Lisa and Jessie both work breakfast and lunch shift as the service team. This is a small town but it does not mean that you have to get with whom ever likes you. Lisa does not feel the same as David does for her.

The ladies are Almost set, Jessie is counting the draw, Lisa is finishing the sweet tea, and starting two more pots of coffee they will need them for breakfast. This is the main place that many of the town folk come for breakfast, on their way to school and work. Last thing to do is flip the open light on, as Lisa flips the light she says to Jessie, “ I really think you should take the chance you have this morning to tell David upfront. Just tell him just like we went over. You moved here to get out of an abusive relationship and to get your kids out of it. All the things you have went through you are just not in anyway ready or can begin to be ready for a relationship, you must heal yourself first.” Jessie responding telling Lisa she is absolutely right and asking if she wanted to grab the guest gettin everyone set while she walked to the office. To give a little information about David he is the owner of the restaurant, a family owned business, been in his family for many generations.

Jessie approached the office David was sitting at his desk, she thought to herself he is so wonderful and such a good looking man, maybe one day when I am ready, he may still be available. There windows of opportunity can be open for only so long. Jessie knocks on the door, David invites her in with a smile. To bad he may not be once she is done pouring her heart out to him.

David ask Jessie to pull up a seat, she said thanks and pulled the chair a little closer to chat. So first of all David I think you are amazing and thank you for looking past my problems and taking the chance to like me. I find you so very attractive, nice, and caring. Sadly I moved here not as something I wanted and I am having to lay low, running from a crazy abusive man. I just got out of a traumatic abusive relationship that has really hurt me and our children. I have so much healing that I need to do for myself, and I could not give someone else the love and affection they need from me. I would like my next relationship to be nice, meaningful, and great for both parties.

I have to get back out there to work, I hope you can understand. David smiles responding he can completely understand where she is coming from. Just know I may wait for you. Jessie walks out smiling in awe, and possibly smitten with him because his response to letting him down, what a man!
