Don’t Run, Hunter, Vampire, Please

A broken glass, a shattered home,

A platter spilt, a fractured dome.

A child’s blood was shed that night

She’s running fast to get out of sight

All things she’s loved, all things she’d hate

Bound up in her, by cruel, cruel fate.

She’s broken a vow and stolen life’s light,

Now she is running, her feet taking flight

It dose not matter how far she will run

For justus will come for the death of his son.

He came to me, and asked for my aid,

I know where to look for I know the maid.

She had hidden there once, and would hide there once more

In the slums of the city, among the sick and the poor.

She fled when she saw me, “Don’t run” I cryed

She pushed past others and ran inside.

Through the crowd she dodged and weaved

Then through a shop, I was not deceived.

She ran through the street, I ran hot on her tail

Then by the gates of a church she fell.

“You’ve no where to run,” I said

Her hands shook as she held her head.

“I’m sorry miss. You’ve killed your last.”

I raised my crossbow, thinking on the past.

“HALT!!” Called the guards, they did not know.

“I’m the Huntress as my papers show.”

“Five children she’s attacked. Tree of them are dead.

The other two lay, wasting away in their sick bed.”

“How could she do this? What is she Miss?”

“A Vampire.” I said and she began to hiss.

She lunged at me with the dagger in her sleeve

I moved to one side in a simple weave.

My arrow aimed true, in her stomic it hit

But the blood lust madness in her eyes were lite

She lunged once again, my katana was drawn

I moved more quickly, and she fell like a fawn.

As lay on the ground, I placed my sword to her heart

But the madness in her had one final spark.

She lunged one last time, plunging my sword through her chest.

But you see, her own knife, she barred deep in my Brest.

“You’ve ended my suffering, so I will end yours.

Please sister join me through death open doors. “

I felt the poison as it coursed through my vain

“You planed this all along. You are truly insane.”

She smiled and laughed as we fell to the ground,

She stoked my check, her laugh, my dieing sound.

I felt stillness sround me in a stunning white light,

And then my beloveds face filled my sight.

No longer all alone on the earth need I rome.

I was reunited with my love, and with him I was home
