WRITING OBSTACLE
Submitted by Lizzie Rose.
Write a poem or story about fog, steering away from any horror themes.
Usually when we think of fog, our minds come up with a daunting image. Try to make your story/poem beautiful.
Here I Wait
I stand there hopelessly in the fog, watching love—and all I had left—fade away from me. I watch as promises run and smiles drift.
He leaves in the mist and drowning rain—maybe so I can feel more of the pain.
But here I wait.
Suddenly, the mist peacefully drifts toward me—almost smiling. Memories unfold between its edges and ripples, and laughter echoes—warmth follows.
The fog envelops me in its arms, her melodies singing as she dances the pain away. Her touch soothes, and her swaying eases. She shows me the fragile shape of what could be, if only I had a little faith.
So here I wait—but now, waiting for fate.
And I stand there peacefully in the fog as the pain fades away.
