To Love And To Be Loved

She was youthful.

Walking around,

Head in the clouds,

Imagining the world ahead of her.

He observed her.

As radiant as the sun,

And shielded her away from the clouds,

Away from the obscurity.

She was lost.

Tangling herself in a web of lies,

Telling herself that it would be different,

Convincing herself to stay, too many times.

He walked a thousand miles for her.

Patient, as she broke down once more,

But why couldn’t she see?

Why couldn’t she recognize her truth?

He was always there for her,

Through her best memories,

To her worst moments.

He wanted her to believe her worth.

To understand her value,

To realize that she could be seen,

That she could be understood,

If she only looked in front of her.
