Life Without You

Write a poem or short story about what life would be like without the person you care about the most.

Crushed Me

Poetry

The sea crashed hard,

But not like your death,

One day, here,

The next, only fear

Your death

Crushed

Until I couldn't breathe

Why'd you have to go,

And leave me alone?

Your death

Crushed

Life without you

I can't begin to imagine

Without your too-strong coffee

And messy attempts at sorry

Your death

I’m loving the pattern. The repetition and the way you chose to frame your words 💯!

My only recommend would be to end with “Why’d you have to go?” one last time. Your pattern has a natural push and pull. Every time you hit “your death crushed me” it flows back out again. What I suggested would just be a way to “complete the pattern” if that makes sense 🙃 Your poem is excellently done!
