The Betrayal A Sister Can Make
The dark room, the dark walls, and the often moaning in the back of the room, seemed as if it were nothing compared to the absolute betrayal burning a whole in my heart. Why of course, it must have been shriveled if not turned to stone by now, for my own sister had turned her back on me and was about to kill me, in front of my own children, for goodness sakes! “You don’t have to do this, Katherine. I will give you everything. Daddy’s money, my phone, even my house.” I begged through tears. “Stop, Diane. You never loved me, so why should you love your children?” She said, cackling like a madman. “Of course I loved you! I always have. But I don’t show it as well as I could have. It’s not as if you ever showed me affection.” That was the wrong thing to say. Oh, why did mum ever even have a third child? “If you think I’ll go easy on you, think again! Who do you think killed father? Of course, that old loon thought I was kidding! That it was a joke! At least that made the murder more amusing. You should have seen the look on his face when I actually shot him!” She laughed. My kids are in the corner with their hands over their ears. All six of them huddled together, it just broke my heart. I had to live, for them, for my husband, for my brother as well. I had to convince her. “You won’t kill my children, I know you won’t. You may have a hatred for me, but I know you. You wouldn’t hurt my kids. And then they’ll tell Justin and he’ll call the cops if they don’t. This is all rather a pointless murder, don’t you think?” She looked as if thinking, but I couldn’t tell in the black environment she had trapped me in. “You may be right, I wouldn’t kill or hurt children. But I would sell them. As slaves, for meat, Ha! I might even use them as furniture!” “Katherine, please. What if I give you the one think you never had?” Her ears perk up. “You mean…” “Yes.” I sigh. “I’ll give you mother’s wedding ring.” It was the last thing I wanted to say, but I would do anything to get out of this certain predicament. She didn’t kill me, but she was planning on selling us to some of her friends in Asia. She threatened us before we went into the airport. “No funny business or I’ll pull out my gun!” However, my eldest son made a sign telling the passengers behind us we’d been kidnapped. My husband was relieved when he found us all, and my brother, Justin, was overjoyed as well. When Katherine went into prison, no one came to visit her and I got mother’s wedding ring back. Thank got for my son, or we’d all be working as slaves.
