My footsteps are quiet, like those of mice as i make my way through the winding streets. My breathing is deep and slow, a soft, rythmic sound that follows me as I walk, the only noise in the empty streets. I know there are rules of life, don’t walk home alone at night, don’t get in strangers’ cars, don’t meet peole you met on the internet in real life, but there’s something calming in walking the along the endless pavement alone, knowing the rest of the world is silent, that you’re alone in this space. It feels like nothing is real. Every problem can be ignored if you pretend nothing is real.
