I tried to keep that in mind as I trudged through the snow. The bottoms of my skirts were soaked. I was shivering. The cold seemed to sap all of my energy.
I wore many layers, but it didn’t deter the harsh wind. I had on a thin hat, in hopes that it would keep the heat from leaving my body.
I kept my eyes on the path as I trudged forward. “There is always a silver lining. “ I told myself. My voice sounded dull and distant. Some part of my brain registered that I had probably started to develop hypothermia.
I stumbled and fell. I didn’t have the energy to stand back up and keep going. My vision started to fade. In the distance I heard shouting. I tried to focus on it, but I soon lost consciousness.
