Where Am I?
It’s probably 2 A.M. in the morning, but I can’t be completely sure. There is no clock beside me for me to check, all I see is the flashing red circle of light above me. It feels like I am encased in a small room. Feeling the wall beside me, I know it’s glass, but it has another layer of something outside of it because of the flashing light on the ceiling.
Buzzing in my ear had woken me an hour earlier, and I only feel half conscious. Where am I?
I am too weak to panic, to think anything of it. I just stare at the light on my ceiling, waiting for something to happen. The buzzing gets louder, and I try to cover my ears. It doesn’t stop. Doesn’t even drown it out.
I attempt to roll over on whatever I am lying on. A bed perhaps. I can’t move though. I can move my arms and my neck, but not anything else.
I search my brain, trying to think hard. Where am I? How did I get here? What is this place?
Wait. Who am I?
My consciousness slowly comes back to me, and I desperately grip onto it, hoping it won’t slip away.
I randomly get an urge to cry out, and so, against my better judgement, I scream desperately. The buzzing in my ear gets louder, and louder, and soon, it’s all I hear. The red light above me flashes faster, and faster, and soon, through the buzzing in my ear, I hear a loud beep.
It sounded like it came from the red light, but I’m not to sure.
The ground shakes aggressively, jerking me from side to side, and soon, it feels like the room is being lowered down.
I resist the urge to scream again, it’s pointless, but as the room is lowered, light peeks in, it looks like I’m being lowered into a large, bright room with white walls. The buzzing in my ear quiets, but is still there.
The walls are glass indeed, and through that glass, as my room settles onto the floor of the brightly lighted room, all around me, watching me, is a group of people.
