The Cocoon
The caterpillar looked to the sky
And admired the pretty butterfly
Thinking with sorrow upon his heart
I will never get to play that part
I am stuck upon the ground
While that creature there, flies round and round
Light as air with wings so fine
And the symmetry was just divine
I should never hope to be
Loved by one so fine as she
Downtrodden and so filled with pain
He could not see they were the same
For life will play its little tricks
And will you worry yourself sick?
Or will you see the bigger plan
It’s easier for those who can
For those who know the grand design
Everything is a mere sign
Pointing you right back to who you are
And reminding you who you’re never far
From having what you want to love
Or from flying up above
Just remember what is really true
That everything you love is you
