A Farmer As a Slayer
(Inspired by the game Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe)
“Oi, Farmer Alex!” Gil called as Alex entered the Adventurers Guild.
“Oh, hey Gil! What do you need?” She asked, at the same time dusting off his clothes and wrapping some of his scratches from The Skull Caverns. Those monsters always gave her quite the ride.
“You finished a Irradiation Goal. Hmm.. Let me check which one it was—Slimes? No—already done.. Dust Sprites? No, done as well.. Ah! Here it is. Royal Serpents! Those are a hard one to beat! Here’s your Napalm Ring.” He said, sounded amazed and handing over the ring.
“You’ve only got a few more left—Just hundy-fifty Magma Sprites and 50 Pepper-Rexes! Your gonna be a master monster slayer for sure. You may even have to take Marlon’s job!” Gil chuckled.
“Ey, Ey, no one’s taking my job. I’m still the best of the best slayers! Though, Alex may have to replace you if you keep that up!” Marlon laughed as Gil frowned at him, looking like he was keeping himself from laughing.
“I won’t take anyones job. Working Atlantis Farm is good enough for me, thank you very much. Hah! Well, I’ll be off now. Gotta get some sleep before I pass out and owe Harvey even more money. Heh-“ She said, awkwardly knowing she passed out too many times in the mines or at her farm.
She walked out waving as she hopped on her horse to travel home through the mountains. 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳.. 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘸𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳. She thought, as she hopped off her horse and went to bed.
A few weeks later, Alex slammed through the door surprisingly early.
“Gil! I did it, I finished the last two! And I didn’t even get that many scars!” She chuckled.
“Great work! Here are your rewards, The Knights Helmet, and I didn’t tell Marlon about this reward, but you get his phone number. Now any time you pass out or get hurt badly, you can recover your items from your house! Special for you since I know you overwork yourself so much.” He chuckled.
“Hey, I never agreed to this! But.. Fine, it’s a good enough reward.” Marlon sighed.
She felt good inside. She finally felt like how she did when she ate her first Stardrop.
