WRITING OBSTACLE

Describe an object’s temperature without using words relating to tactile senses.

Tactile senses, or the sense of touch, are usually what we use to identify whether something is hot or cold. Without this sense, how else can we recognise and describe temperature?

Edge of crockpot

As I typically utilize the crockpot together with its ceramic pot, I was clueless as to the heat contained in its rim. Over the holidays, I attempted to make mushroom onion sauce in the crockpot in a small disposable metal pan. As I leaned over to retrieve it, my arm brushed against the rim, causing a moment of extreme pain and a burn that still resembles a small portion of that outer rim. A reminder to me of the heat a crockpot possesses and the power it has to inflict pain on humans. A strong message to me about the power I have to hurt or heal, with my inner fire.
