Infinity Between Stars

If there’s one true marvel in this world, it is the spellbinding magic of stars, filled with so much beauty and endless wonder. They captivate with their blossoming light, twinkle like hidden gems dotted beyond the horizon. Every beaming diamond that shimmers in the great beyond, is a miracle, a true symbol of hope.

It’s the space between them that frightens me, and I find myself trapped there often. Darkness shrouds all at once, forbids any light to enter even the tiniest of crevices. Falling, falling into a cascading black hole, where the prospect of light is laughable.

I find myself forgetting the sheer sovereignty of those stars. For a time that stretches on like the infinite universe, all I know are the sinister shadows that claw and cling to every waking breath.

What is light? What is happiness?

I’m lost, being pulled under by a force that is much stronger that me. It hisses in my ears, fills my mind with twisting fogs. My thoughts become slaves to the plague that haunts them.

But then, just like it was there all along, a sparkling orb appears once more, beckoning me forward with its magnificent gleam.

The silver streams almost blind me against the harsh, inky blackness as it’s canvas.

I can’t forget the darkness, I can’t forget the stars.

Without that deathly black expanse, the brilliant stars could not shine, they would be rendered to nothing by the break of day.
