POEM STARTER

โ€˜Where there once was softness, now all had turned to stone'

Write a poem which closes with this line.

A Dry Stream [?]

_A river dreamt, and a river was._

__

_Pure water ran calmly through the life it nurtured, stroking apon the busy fish about, until the smoothest rocks it beheld._

__

_The river was envied amongst the ponds, amongst the puddles and the pools._

__

_But this little river was not thirsty today._

__

_So it gave until the ponds turned to rivers, until the puddles turned to ponds, and the pools turned to wells._

__

_It gave until it wanted back._

_But received none._

__

_The once glistening lake still shines below the same sun, but this time, the sun is no friend._

__

_Because where there was once softness, now all had turned to stone._
