POEM STARTER
Heavy rain, cracked windows, and a forgotten song.
Use these descriptors as inspiration for a poem.
Erosion
Your melody drips into my life
Uninvited, unwanted, yet unresisted
You claw through the cracks
In my eyes and call it love.
Uninvited, unwanted, yet unresisted,
Your symphonies rain heavy as
They burst through the cracks
Melodically, rhythmically
You breathe life into what had none before.
You give the echos of my mind purpose.
As you claw through the cracks, and chinks, and holes,
In my eyes, my heart, my brain and soul.
Defenceless. Helpless in the wake of love
I turn and stare out of my windowless eyes
The pan of glass that shielded me from life
Has now become the knife that cut it short.
Uninvited, unwanted, yet unresisted.
As you claw through the cracks
You, rain, you clawed through the cracks
Through my skin.
