I See You
You were walking by the coffee shop on 43rd street the first time I saw you. You were wearing a blue muscle shirt and grey sweatpants. The red backpack that you had over your right shoulder had stains from the gym. The workouts are definitely paying off as you also fill out your muscle shirt well. I won’t say anything about your sweatpants. There are some secrets that are meant to be kept. For now.
I was happen to finishing making my last chai tea late for the night. Well, that suddenly became my last drink of the shift as I told the manager I was suddenly ill. Some would call it illness of the heart the resembles love at first site. I call it destiny. I had to follow you. I had to find out where you were going. That was that, and it was meant to be. I was going to see to it.
It looks like you’re very next visit after the gym is the sandwich shop on 51st street. It just so happens that Pete’s Subs is one of my favorite places for a bite sometimes as well. Maybe we can eat there together sometime. It’ll be perfect after a nice long workout together.
I watched you order the foot long all meat sub on wheat. I usually get a veggie sub but I’ll compromise.
It was the highlight of my day watching you take that first bite. I could tell you were indulging as you really took your time and didn’t even wipe the mayo from the left corner of you mouth close to your dimple. It looks like you were catching some bread crumbs in your 2 o’clock shadow as well. No worries. That can easily be wiped off your perfectly chiseled face. I’ll watch a little longer. I’ll keep watching.
There’s only so much watching I can do though. You’re going to have to leave at some point. I’ll have to do something once you pay the check and leave. Should I keep following you or take action? Maybe I’ll do both. It’s not like this is my first rodeo. There have been other loves. But none like you. I’ll love you alright. I’ll love you to death. I’ll see to it.
