The Cliff
“This is stupid, Madison.” Chloe complains as I take a few more steps toward the cliff edge. I look over my shoulder and grin.
“Oh come on, Chlo, it’s gonna be fun.” My little sister gulps and peers over the edge. She looks back up at me. She was fiddling braiding her long sandy blonde hair and biting her lip.
“Maddie, I don’t want to. Why are we even doing this?” I smile and shrug.
“Why not?” Chloe looks at me like I’m crazy. “Sometimes it’s good to have some fun in life, and not just watch TikTok all day.” Chloe rolls her eyes.
“Says you . . I don’t even have TikTok.” I laughed, I was in a great mood today, it’s a great feeling.
“Oh, come on, Chlo! Brighten up! It’s a sunny day and mom actually said yes to something!” Chloe raised an eyebrow.
“You _asked_ Mom!?” I shrugged and grinned again.
“Something like that . . So, are you going to do it? Come on please!” She scowled at me. I mean, there wasn’t a reason to say no.
“Fine, only because I’m being peer pressured and if I say no, I’ll never hear the end of it.” I smile cheerfully, and pull my shirt and shorts off to reveal a one piece bathing suit. Chloe had already done the same.
“Are you ready!?” I holler. Chloe nods, and run and jump down off the cliff.
