Stolen Children
The little girl hid in a bush
Pressed against the sharpened thorns
For her game of hide and seek
Was taken by a fae with horns.
“Child, child show your face”
His voice bellowed through the air
“I mean no wrong just come on out
Show your eyes and golden hair.”
When he found her the girl screamed!
She saw past his human gleam
And she curled up in a ball
Wishing it were all a dream.
“Child, child, listen now
I’ll take you to a land of magic
Where the fae dance around
And the children reek of havoc”
“What about my family?”
But his smile never faltered
“They will never know your gone
Changelings looks are slightly altered.”
“Come with me to my land
And you’ll live amongst the folk
Where you’ll wear a berry crown
And eat creams and cakes in bulk!”
The girl took the faerie’s hand
And his eyes gleamed cold and dry
“Good, lets go beyond the sea
Where the magic children lie.”
