Crimson
I’m panting while I leave the burning behind me. My skin is a dusty grey from all the flakes of ash falling down. The crimson colored mask on my face making it harder for me to catch my breath. I fall onto my knees, letting go of the body in my arms. I look down at her flawless face, despite the hell she had just been through. I cough loudly, even so its barely audible by all the sirens surrounding us, but not one dares to move towards us. “How did you know. Tell me, who are you?” A shivering voice speaks behind me. That’s when I feel a cold and sharp surface pointed at my back. I try to withhold my body from physically reacting to it. “How did you know where I was?” She whispers through her sobs, the sharp surface scratching my back. I turn around to face her. My gaze lies on the knife. “We don’t need violence to solve this.” I state, but apparently so she didnt share my thought. She shoves the knife into my back. She hisses: “Tell me who you are ‘hero’ or I’ll make sure to hit your next time.” My eyes widening at her threat. I gulp, feeling the blood slowly rise up my throat. “Take.. it out.” I huff. Her eyes were icecold. It scared me. Did she somehow get involved with the villain in the meantime? I spout: “You know well who I am ‘Victoria’.” Her mouth gapes open, no words would be able to express that all this time the hero she had wanted to kill was her own brother.
