A Day At The Park

Birds flit and flutter, a sight to behold,

Swooping for snacks, they’re brazen and bold,

I sip my cold drink while people walk past.

Pigeons strut proudly, their feathers all neat,

Claiming the benches, they’re taking a seat,

I ponder my life as I scroll through my feed.

Seagulls dive down with a raucous, loud caw,

Snatching my fries, without even a flaw,

I watch them with envy, their freedom so clear.

They sing out their tunes, carefree in flight,

While I scroll through my phone, lost in the light,

And wonder if they think of the ground below.
