My darling lover,
Each time your sweet lips part,
You release the serpent,
To coil around my heart.
I still remember when,
We plugged the apple from the tree,
Its forbidden juices flowed,
And I drank eagerly.
Oh, but when I realized,
The tree was not meant for us,
The apple decayed in my hands,
My mouth filled with dirt.
Your rot stains my lips,
Your serpent weaves through my bones,
Your rib is caged within me, your blood,
Courses through my veins.
From my shallow grave,
Caked with blood and filth,
I gaze up at the tree,
Still yearning, yearning.
