Otherworldly Secrets Between Sisters

The phone rang and I jumped, it startled me out of my dissociative state. I’m terrified to pick it up. I’m afraid of what they might say. I’d been daydreaming of all the horrible things that could have happened in the time since the government took my sister - for reasons unknown. I’d found out that it was someone who worked for the United States government because in the struggle of kidnapping my sister out of her apartment in the middle of the night, one of the men happened to drop a business card with their name on it.

“What an idiot” I thought. Upon googling the name and scouring the internet for any information I could find about this man, I found that I had recognized him. I’ve seen him lingering around at my sister’s daughter's soccer games and again at the coffee shop. I figured, it’s a small town - of course I’m going to see the same people over and over again. But I should have known better, I had never seen him up until about a month ago. When I input his photo into my database of CCTV & all internet images, a few popped up. He appeared in a handful of images - the final result that appeared was him in an entirely black suit, standing next to none other than the president of the United States.

I shook off the thoughts and clicked on the phone - answered a phone call from an unknown number, instantly knowing it would be the man who took my sister.

“Hello.” I said calmly.

“Do you know who this is?” the voice said, it was obvious that he was using a voice disguiser. I decided to play dumb.

“I don’t know who you are - but I know you have my sister. Let me speak to her.” I said, trying to hide the sheer terror in my voice.

“Do not start this off by lying to us. Your sister is fine. It’s not Brooke that we want. It’s you. You don’t want to disobey your President’s orders, now do you, Kennedy?”

Again, I played dumb. “Me? What would the United States government want with me?”

“We know what you do. Don’t play dumb.”

I was hoping this whole time that this was some kind of mistake - although deep down inside it wasn’t. I had never shared with my sister what I actually did. As far as she knew, I was just her dorky little sister who does research at a lab. I didn’t share any information with her because I wanted to protect her from the truth - that this world was a lot uglier than was made obvious to regular people. Aliens were real. And the government was trying to turn them into a weapon and knowing what I know, it could cause a world war - and total destruction of the world.

“Meet us at the old steel factory. We will let your sister go when you turn yourself over.”

—-------------------------

We were hiding in between the giant stacks of metal on the side of the building. I had managed to knock the armed men out but I knew there were more and they were probably going to find us.

“Brooke, I need to tell you everything. Just in case I don’t make it out of here.”

“Kenn, we’re going to -” she grabbed my hand and squeezed.

“Please just listen. Mom had an affair when you were 4, dad is not my real dad. I am not completely human. I am part Plejaran - the government has my real father. For the last 4 years, I have been helping aliens all over the country escape from government watch. They have plans to turn all aliens into weapons - including myself. I have powers, more of which I can explain later but if we don’t make it out of here - I have a storage unit, you need to go to it and go through the information. You need to stop them from turning my people into weapons.” I rambled. I looked up at Brooke’s face and her jaw was on the floor.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. I just wanted to protect you from all of this.” I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes.

“We’ll have plenty of time - there’s something I haven’t told you.” she said. She stood up, looked back at me and smiled - as her facial structure started to change and she grew 3 feet. “COME AND GET US, ASSHOLES.” she screamed.
