POEM STARTER
How could something so small take up so much space in my heart?
Compose a poem inspired by this question.
veins from our heart
when i think of my heart
i think of an entire different world in place for it
i think hearts carry all of us
it is always beating
keeping us alive
i think it’s genius
the way it works is inspiring
i think when your heart is suffocating
your chest will hurt
it’ll cave
and wave lengths beyond the outlines of our beating
i think the little things poke at our heart
and set fires to our brain
reminding us that our veins can only intertwine a certain length
no matter how stronger our hearts become
it is always reminding us with a single thump in our chest
that we have so much we hold in
so much we rely on the good in ourselves
so many thoughts
one single beat attached
there is only so much we can occupy
