Work In Progress... Indefinitely... At Least Until I Remember...
I woke with excitement, jolting me from my nest of cozy blankets as though I had been struck by lightning. My feet tangled in my blankets I fell from the bed like a newborn calf attempting his first steps. Paper! I needed paper! Fumbling desperately in the dark for my lamp it finally clicked on and blinded me. It was the wee hours of dawn when the sky was at its darkest blue and my dreams at their most creative. I fished a receipt from the pockets of my jeans that had been discarded s carelessly on the floor and a crayon from a cup on my desk. I wrote down the keywords of my genius. Once satisfied I returned to be,much to tired to create a Pinterest board for this novel idea. Novel idea... ha! I snorted with sleepy laughter as I sank into my pillows.
Consort, dragons, cowboys... what the heck does it mean? The next morning I pondered the note I’d left to future-now present- me. What kind of fever dream was this that I’d thought was god-given inspiration? I remembered a vague feeling of excitement about this idea but... what was that dream about? It was on the tip of my tongue. I was sure I would remember if I stopped over thinking it. I crumped up the receipt from CVS, with the silly little idea written in yellow crayon, and tossed it in the trash bin lightly. Oh well! I guess it was never meant to be. But it still itched her brain that she could not remember.
