I watch him. _My best friend_. He steps through the boisterous hallways towards me. I am by my locker and had just put my books away from my previous class. As he approaches me I couldn’t help but stare at his features. I mean, he was beautiful. His dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes. Girls in our grade crush on this boy all year long. I felt this weird feeling of jealousy when I heard yet another girl was crushing on him.

I’m not completely certain why. We’re best friends. We are _definitely_ not anything more than that. And I know he doesn’t like me either. There would be no way, right? Nothing will change between us. Just friends…
