“Got to move fast, got to move fast!” Cried Jeb, just as he sneak out of the barn. His shirt all bloody up from the fast stabbing from his attackers. “Jesus Christ, I hope they don’t folllow me!” He spoke to himself, hearing screams of anger and shouting coming from the barn.

Jeb had just survived a home invasion for 3 days, the only family member from the “Cordell family” done in by the local bully of the town and his crew of thugs just as Jeb Cordell stabbed one of them out of fear and fled down the river. Too far away to walk into town, so going by boat to the next town over was his best bet.

He grabbed the paddle by the dock, just as he was about to step in. When he heard a shout from behind. “There’s the farmers son, gutted dame old Willie in the belly!” The son immediately knew who it was shouting. So he pulled off the rope and started frantically rowing into the river stream.

“Tears came pouring down his cheeks, rubbing them off dry just as he sees the lights starting to show up by the docks, Harden and his gang of bullies coming down to finish his the job for good. God helped the sinners for that.
