Try to make each entry build from the last to add to the storyline. If you switch perspective, make it clear that it's someone else's journal.

Dear diary,
Today was a boring day. But I feel like something big is about to happen, like a strong gut feeling.

Can you believe Olivia looked at me. My crush Olivia. She probably doesn’t even know who I am but that split look and smile she gave me made my whole day.

Dear diary,
My parents were fighting today agin. Over what? The same old. I feel so useless all the time. They always blame me for the stupidest thing. But who knows maybe tomorrow will be better.

This guy I know, Liam, was a bit down today. We’re not friends or anything we just sit next to eachother in math. But still that doesn’t mean I can’t notice his leg shaking uncontrollably, how zoned out he was, or how he looked like he got a bad nights rest. I’ll talk to him tomorrow. Everyone should be heard. Everyone deserves someone they can talk to, right?

This girl Andrea is so sweet. She is always looking out for others. I wonder if anyone looks after her. She inspires me to be a better person. Maybe I should tell her.

Tomorrow is my first game on the new basketball team. I hope Brittney goes. She’s always so supportive of me. Maybe after the game I will shoot my shot.

Dear reader,
This just goes to show the difference in everyone’s life. How impactful some encounters are. Even a slight smile can change a whole person’s day, even a compliment can go a long way. Everyone’s life has a different path. One day you can be happy the next really bad. Someone could be having a completely different day and experience to you. It’s important not to compare the days to others. As every day is an experience that teaches you something new everyday. So be kind and do the things you want. Wear those shoes, that outfit, that hairstyle. Dance in the rain. Shoot your shot. You never know what will happen. And that’s the beautiful part of life. You can learn and adapt to these experiences. Don’t judge people for having more or less than you. We’re all just trying to survive with the cards we’ve been dealt with after all.
You only live once so make that life meaningful.
