POEM STARTER
Write a series of Cinquain poems exploring different emotions related to the same event.
A cinquain is a poem of 5 lines with a set structure. Use the basic American syllable structure across your five lines: 2-4-6-8-2
grief
relief.
deep breath, trembling
few tears shed. upturned head
but sure not that a man is dead!
of course.
piercing
everywhere screams
love will never feel safe
panic overcomes. she succumbs
wasted
numbness
shock isn’t right.
new in alien lands
world colored in blue, all sense fails.
what’s left?
good days
can ruin things
when guilt of living drowns
out reason. but honor their life
with joy.
