STORY STARTER
A fairytale character is dropped into this world.
How do they react? What do they find most difficult?
Dropped
The magic carpet dropped me,
But I know not where.
The world fell away
And strange things happened when I landed there.
There were no more palaces
Nor houses of sandstone
In its place were simple buildings
And black strips for a road
I couldn’t navigate
Everything looked the same!
And talking to the people
Was, oh, such a pain!
They stared at me
As if I was a monkey in a zoo
Some seemed to recognize me
Though they knew not who.
Aladdin must be missing me.
He doesn’t know where I am.
My father would be oblivious,
And Rajah probably was eating a ham.
‘You’re not from around here’
A bystander pointed out
‘No I’m not’ I replied with a sigh
‘How can I get out?’
‘Just follow this walk.’ They said
‘You’ll find your way.’
But the longer I walked
The later it was in the day.
I have to get home
I said in my mind
Agarabah needs me
These roads only wind.
The night was drawing near
That much was sure
I still had no inkling
Of how to get to my shore.
I finally gave in
And sat on the ground
And just as I did
Just look what I found!
I was back in Agarabah.
What a beautiful sight!
The sandstone buildings, the cobbled walks,
Every thing was just right.
