Burned At The Stake

As the gym doors swung open, a tidal-like current of air swept over the entire gymnasium. All eyes turned to meet her as she stepped in. Gasps were had. A few guys started rubbing their eyes to take a second look. None of this phased Amelia.

With all attention on her, she knew what she had to do. “Yes, I’m alive. But soon, you might not be.”

A few of the attendees ran for the doors, only to find them close by an invisible force. They started pulling them as one scream, “Oh dear God, help us!” Others started whimpering and crying.

She didn’t feel like she thought she would. She actually pitied them. Too late though.

Down the street, Officer Farnsworth heard what he thought was an explosion come from the school. He drove down and ran from the shop, he looked through a window into the gym.

Clicking his walkie, “I’m going to need reinforcements at the Old Timberwolves High. And you might want to call the superintendent. No school tomorrow.”

He busted the window open just to see it without a filter. Blood lined the entire court. Bodies laid wrecked upon the bleachers. He didn’t know how it was possible.
