Emily walked along the beach looking for shells. Her parents where still sleeping and her brother Mark was wondering around in the opposite direction. There were nine years apart so not very close. Up ahead she could see something sticking out of the sand. It looked like metal but she was no positive. The one thing she knew was that she was going to find out what it was. Soon the beach would be swarming with people, so she needed to act fast. Slowly approaching the item she kept looking over her shoulder making sure no one was coming. Soon the tide would rise and the object would be under water. Using her foot she cleared away some of the sand. From this view point she could see that it was the handle of a sword. She dropped to her knees and started digging, not caring how much trouble she got in for getting sand all over her clothes. It did not take long to reveal the whole object, a sword stuck in the sand like a trophy. This was something she had only ever seen in movies. She slowly stood up and looked down at the handle debating if she wanted to try and pick it up. At ninety five pounds soaking wet she doubted she could lift it but she wanted to try anyway. Slowly she reached out and grabbed ahold of it. Within seconds it was coming out of the sand with ease. As she raised the sword high above her head something seemed to change within her. She could not explain it other than to say it felt like electric was running through her. Time seemed to have stopped as she stared up at the sky half expecting lightning to fall upon her. It did not take long for reality to sink back in. Emily quickly dropped the sword and ran to the car. She needs to put this in the car before anyone tried to take it from her.

“Emily time to get up you’re going to miss the bus.” Her mother called from outside her door. Normally Emily was the first one up but lately she has been sleeping more and more. She was quick to jump out of bed and get dressed. Both parents were sitting at the kitchen table when she came down.

“Looks like you made it just in time there us the bus her mom called. Emily ran out the door as the bus pulled up.
