POEM STARTER
Heavy rain, cracked windows, and a forgotten song.
Use these descriptors as inspiration for a poem.
Emancipation
I am withdrawn from the world
amidst the chaotic search in silence
The spirits I seek in a self advancing study
I must do it the hard way
The hard way
The hard way
And it unravels before me in tears from the sky forlorn in gloom.
The pain of it all is it my own?
Yes, perhaps it is theirs too.
I immerse myself in you souls
and you open forgotten wounds
ones that I'm not strong enough to face
tedious sojourns, breaking my spirit,
and my silent cries call out
'I need you, detective, I think,
perhaps as therapy, a hand to hold,
a guiding light in the suppressed darkness of my life resurfacing but I'm afraid to ask
you, sir.'
