From Me To You
It was a wreck when we bought it,
Unloved with little to salvage,
But with some paint and some grit,
We turned a house with damage,
Into our home.
We were a wreck when we fixed it,
Little money and energy to spare,
But we never did quit,
And instead grabbed a chair,
As we looked forward to tomorrow.
We were a wreck when we heard,
Our two would become three,
And time slowly blurred,
Until overcome with glee,
You were in our arms.
And now our home is also yours,
Our little bundle so carefree,
As you begin your own years,
Of which I’m sure will be,
Magical.
