Choices
Life is a series of choices, choose wisely.
Don’t follow the blind leading the blind it’s unsightly,
Choose from the heart and act rightly,
Yet with the mindwiping since we were young it’s slightly unlikely,
We’re told to be good and please everyone else,
To make others happy while we forget ourselves,
Put our own desires and happiness high up on a shelf,
Burning to ashes in our minds living hell,
In the chicanery it’s hidden,
In the midst of our judgments we make everyone else the victims,
Yet we are the real villains that spread like a deadly sin,
Pretending to be wolves but we’re really wrapped in sheep’s skin,
Born and raised to lose we’ve never experience a win,
Right thinking and unlimited choices it’s where the stories of us can begin,
Choice after choice we condemn to no end,
If we don’t act now we’ll cross the Rubicon,
In the land of the lost we’ll forever be gone,
But with every dark night there comes a new dawn,
We can choose we want and change the paths that we’re on,
Anything is possible the moment we’re born,
Good or bad, healed or broken,
We are filled with destinies left unspoken,
That’ll voice themselves once the chains in our minds are broken,
Happy or sad, hot or frozen, a desolate dessert or an endless ocean,
Are all products of our minds and actions we have chosen,
With every breath we take we get another chance,
To end this dance and break the trance,
To choose wisely instead of relying solely on chance,
And break the cycle of this dead end romance,
Live, die, win or lose,
We’re wound up tight and need to let lose,
Keep being a bitch or walk a mile in another’s shoes,
We’re only here for a moment so do what you want to do, but remember,
In the end it’s up to each of us to choose!
