POEM STARTER

The Scars on Our Hearts
Write a poem which could have this as the title.
The Scars On Our Hearts
Wounds sealed,
though never truly healed -
Keloids hide deep voids
of a truth we shield
Blood sweats
from the tears of hearts torn -
Bandaged in bondage,
by sleeves where the heart’s worn
Etched into cardiac muscle -
So when the pain beats loudest,
May these scars be the muzzle
To silence the sorrow —
Of knowing we have no future together,
Yet I’ll be reminded of that again tomorrow
Picked at the scabs,
Till no love was left to grab -
Now these raised blemishes,
Are the only way I reminisce on the love we once had.
