Colorful Night
“Luciaaaa!” A voice called from downstairs. “Yes?!” I yelled. The sound of scuffling feet accompanied the complete silence that was in my room.
My door flung open, revealing Briana in the doorway. “Can we watch the rainbows tonight?”
I groaned. “We watch them every night.” I flipped onto my side. Briana’s face contorted into a frown. “But you promised Mondayyy..” She swayed sadly.
Oh yeah.. I didnt wanna watch them Monday so I said Wednesday I would.. Shoot.
“Okay fine..” I sighed. I rolled off the bed before my toes sank into the beige carpet. I walked over to the window and ladder slowly.
Briana cheerfully skipped behind me. “Outside outside outside outside..” She quietly chanted.
I climbed up the ladder, Briana right behind, and opened the latches to the window.
Once we both were on the roof, Briana was practically bouncing, pointing out every rainbow in the sky.
But, one rainbow particularly caught my eye. It wasn’t like the other rainbows. It was perfectly arched, and the colors were bright and perfect. The way it reflected the damp moonlight, was just so beautiful.
“Lucia?” Briana asked. She was the stab that burst my daydream. She looked at me with her big green doe eyes. “Yeah?” I asked reluctantly.
“I’m cold. Can I have your jacket?”
