Seen Once and then Forgotten

I remember

People‘s faces

Names I‘ve heard in passing

But I wonder

In all these places

Am only I not laughing?

Nowhere I walk

This strangeness leaves

Familiarity gone from the dictionaries

Do they look away with mind

Or do they just not care?

Could it be they‘re blind

Or don‘t have time to spare?

A grain of sand

Among millions on land

Is that what I am?

A shard of glass

Lying on the grass

That is what you are?

If so, we are

Somehow the same

Faceless and without a name

We drown in this sea

That subdues our plea

To be seen, to be heard

This sea called Planet Earth

Where people are like trees

Looked on once and then forgotten

Wounds that no none sees

Fester and become rotten

Or maybe we are like stars

Hard to find twice in the sky

Everyone bears these scars

Yet we‘re alone when we cry
