Life Lessons From Death- Part 2

Some people come to me unexpectedly, suddenly and I’m not always prepared for them. It’s like when someone suggests that you hang out in an hour but your not ready yet and are caught off guard. Sometimes I’m not ready for certain people to finish the race, and I know they’re not either.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to come to the conclusion that sometimes life truly is just too short and sometimes life truly is unfair. You might be thinking that I don’t understand but I do. I really do. I have emotions you know. When you’re sad just do what I do and imagine life is a party. They just had to leave early, I’ll make sure they reach their next destination safely.

Don’t worry though, I spare no expense no matter who my client is. They all feel the same soft cloak and soothing bony fingers and they are all escorted with the upmost care. I pride myself on the quality of the experience I provide.

One thing that is strange in my kind of work is that no matter how much warning I give myself that a client is about to pass, it still seems so unexpected, unpredictable, unanticipated.

So, any death is truly surprising, whether the timer goes off far too early or the seconds keep ticking for as long as they can. But, I promise they’re on their next adventure, smiling at you and telling you that they’re alright.
