My preoccupation with perfection

Has led to procrastination with my poetry.

Page after page, the paper remains pristine,

Pretending my passion has persevered

Instead of being propelled into literary purgatory,

Permanently perpetuating pessimism.

Pressured past the point and place

It was pure, poignant and prolifically playful.
