WRITING OBSTACLE

Write a story in which none of the characters can speak.

Try to think about why the characters can't speak and how they interact: are they unable to speak, is something preventing them from doing it, are they choosing not to?

Midnight Snack

Poetry

A slight nod here

A faint gesture there

I smile in reply

And give a nod of my own

I get up and open the fridge

Hold up a Tupperware

A shrug and a faint frown

So I put it back

And offer something else

This time a nod and a smile
