Dale was a middle aged man who lived alone in his apartment. He worked long hours to make ends meet. He loved passing the time watching television and honestly wasn’t the happiest person. Relationships never lasted because he wasn’t the best partner. He had family but didn’t have the greatest relationship with them either.

Being independent is a big accomplishment even if you’re not the best person because at least you’re taking care of yourself. That care didn’t extend past hisself.

Some days he was spiteful and mean because he was miserable. Life just didn’t feel good. He ruined every opportunity that came by and spent his entire life just getting by.

One day he decided to get into a relationship with a girl he barely liked. People date at random just to see where it goes. They were both on the same page about that. Spending time together also wasn’t the best but wasn’t terrible either. Sometimes it’s just nice to have someone around.

One day she was pregnant and he was actually disgusted at the thought of having a child. It wasn’t out of love. He didn’t want to be a parent. He ended the relationship and never spoke to her again.

Whether she kept the child or not was none of his business. He could care less.

She eventually reached out saying she kept the baby but he ignored the message.

Then he just moved on with his life back to what he was already doing. Alone in misery.
