Keeping It Real

They told us "Nah, that ain't gonna fly,"

Like we were some weird, mismatched tie.

"Too different," they'd say, with a shake of their head,

"You're both just asking for trouble," they said.

But, like, whatever, we didn't care,

We had our own thing, a love we could share.

Through late-night talks and messy, dumb fights,

We held on tight, through days and through nights.

Yeah, people talked, they threw us some shade,

Said our whole thing was destined to fade.

But we just laughed, and held hands real tight,

Like, "Watch us, world, we'll make this thing right."

'Cause love ain't always sunshine and ease,

Sometimes it's messy, a bit of a squeeze.

But when you find someone who gets your weird vibe,

You hold on tight, and let the good times ride.

So screw the odds, and all the "shoulds" and "nots,"

We're doing our thing, tying crazy knots.

Our love's a riot, a beautiful mess,

And honestly? We couldn't care less.
