Two Degrees

It’s two degrees

So much colder than where we’d been

Alone, I leave

My face numbed by the morning breeze

To the airport

I catch myself yearning for you

Your zeal, your touch

Like faded paintings of the past

Few days ago

Your warmth eased me to carry on

Us, together

With our vow to conquer the world

Yet no longer

As I gape in the express train

West, I must go

Put behind our pursuit in vain

Never look back

There’s nothing much to hold on to

‘Cause all that’s left

Are mem’ries from our bruised passports

And my torn heart
