Flood
It floods you in the moment.
You know when you're on vacation somewhere warm by the water and you spend the whole day out in the sun? Swimming and playing games, taking ill-advised naps and reading in the sun, and having the basics of a sandwich with chips as your lunch. Then in early afternoon as it starts to get unbearable, you go back inside to take a cold shower and a power nap before rejoining the conscious world. You sit down at a table outside with your hair wet as the sun sets, shuffling a deck of cards as you look forward to dinner, surrounded by friends and loved ones. That's one of those moments.
You know when you've had a difficult but fantastically productive day? You started off the day with a workout and crushed your work tasks with a healthy lunch as a break. You quickly cleaned up the home and yourself before meeting up with some friends at a restaurant for a late dinner. You feel healthy and accomplished and raise your glass to your lips after a group cheers. That's one of those moments.
You know when you've taken care of all of those pressing, and maybe even back-burner, 'adult' tasks? Your to-do list is whittled down, your appointments are made, your bills are paid, your fridge is stocked and all but the clothes you're wearing are clean and put away. You settle into your couch with a heavy sigh, some good snacks and that show you've been looking forward to. That's one of those moments.
With friends and family, acquaintances, or alone, it can flood you. And you should absolutely allow yourself to drown it it.
