Bye- Forever
Sitting down at her desk, Alexia reached for a piece of paper and a pen, and wrote "Hey guys. I'm sorry I have to leave you this way. But life is just too hard. I'm tired of trying to fight. I'm tired of trying to live. Bye-Forever."
Leaving the note on her desk, she pulled on her running shoes and announced that she was going on a run. As she ran, she began contemplating the decision. She could still turn around and go back home. But at home there was her uncle, her mom, and her older brother. Her uncle, oh, she would be glad to leave him. He had abused her since she was a little girl. Her mom was an alcoholic who rarely ever stayed sober. Her brother was always at some friends house, never really involved in her life. No, she could care less about leaving them.
Although she didn't care about leaving everyone else, she did care about leaving Adam. He was the only person that seemed to care about her. She loved him with all her heart. But as much as she loved him, she realized she had to leave him. She knew that all her problems would be too much for him to handle, if she should decide to spill them all to him. She couldn't take life any longer, she decided.
The real reason she left the note was for him. She was still running when the thought hit her, "what if nobody shows Adam the note?" So, she decided to text him and tell him goodbye. "Bye Adam," she said. "I love you and I'm so sorry I have to leave you this way. But I just can't take it anymore." And with that she shoved her phone back into her pocket, turning the notifications off. She didn't want anything happening that would make her change her mind.
Reaching the bridge at last, and standing on the railing and looking into the swirling depths below, she could not help but feel a tiny sense of fear. But pushing that feeling down deep inside of her, she began climbing the railing. She braced herself for the final leap, "one, two---" she felt strong arms grab her, pull her off the railing, and envelope her into an embrace. Sobbing, she looked up into the frightened face of her boyfriend. “Alexia, please don't leave me, ” He muttered. “It kills me to see you like this.” Sobbing even harder, she buried her head in his shoulder and whispered “I love you, Adam.”
