POEM STARTER

Write a poem based on a classic children's story.

You don't have to recount the story, but try to draw ideas or themes from it. It doesn't have to be based on a fairytale; it could be a Disney story, a myth, or even a traditional family tale.

Criminal Trespass

Stop thief, with golden hair How dare you! How can you be so bold? Was it due to the cold or are you not in the fold to have proper manners? No hello, or a knock? You broke our lock and now you squat, leaving our kitchen bare. Three chairs you sat, as you placed your fat on one that you could not bear. Broke it did, papa blew his lid, and now our baby has no chair. Tired were you? That you laid in our beds, without a single care. One was too hard, one was too soft, but the last one was just right! Know that, found you we did, you woke with a fright, off into the woods you went. Well, my dear; charges we bring as our fare to you. And do us a favor, as you are so clever, next time you are looking for a place to stay, why don’t you rent or go buy a tent, to help keep us at bay, or next time you will have Hell to pay. ~Mama & Papa Bear
